ABOUT
Broken Shores is a lightest-touch boffer LARP usually taking place during three-day events, held four times a year (once every quarter). This is a full immersion LARP, where Player Characters and Non-Player Characters are expected to have setting-appropriate costuming and behavior.

Safety is the number one priority for the Staff of Broken Shores. All players, volunteers, and Staff are expected to conduct themselves in a safe manner at all times. Broken Shores is a "lightest touch" combat game, meaning that combat strikes are expected to be made with the lightest force needed to be felt, and may only be made with approved foam weapons. Boffer and Latex weapons are allowed. All weapons must be checked and marked at Check-In by a Staff member or Marshal before it can be used during game.
Players are expected to moderate their own swing force, and to respond positively if informed their force is too great and make an immediate adjustment. We do allow some latex weapons. Latex weapon users are advised to keep in mind that latex does have a harder hit than boffer weapons.
This is a “Three Flurry Game” which means a player can strike three times before needing to pause, unless otherwise stated. Firearm Physreps are limited to Nerf blasters that fire one shot per trigger pull. Specific rules on Physrep requirements for both Melee and Ranged can be found in Chapter Five of the Rulebook.

Broken Shores promotes and expects a non-judgmental and supportive attitude from participants. If you’re interested in joining or would like to learn more, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
